Box Score The Williams College Ephs posted a four-set win against the Hamilton College Continentals in a Tuesday evening NESCAC match played at Williams' Chandler Gymnasium.
Williams (6-2, 2-1 NESCAC) won the first set 25-12. Hamilton (2-5, 0-3) tied the match 1-1 with a 25-18 victory in the second set. The Ephs then posted scores of 25-19 and 25-21 in the third and fourth set, respectively, for the win.
Kendall Boxe '22 pounded a kill to tie the second set at 10-10 and Hamilton went on a three-point run to gain the advantage. Stephanie Milam '21 followed with three straight services aces to extend the Continentals' lead to 21-17. Back-to-back kills by Dorothy Poucher '21, a Emma Parkhurst '21 kill and a bad set by Williams secured the win for Hamilton in the second stanza.
Poucher led the Continentals with nine kills and finished with a season-high three blocks (one solo). Claire Kitz '19 tallied eight kills. Nikki Matsuoka '21 and Parkhurst both had 22 digs, and Parkhurst dished out 15 assists. Meghan Wilkinson '19 had 13 assists and 10 digs.
Roxi Corbell and her 11 kills guided Williams. Alex Newton totaled 40 assists and four service aces. Daiana Takashima had 27 digs, and Oliva Hindy had six blocks (one solo).
Hamilton has a full week off before hosting SUNY Geneseo in its home opener on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. in Margaret Bundy Scott Field House.
