The Hamilton College Continentals defeated Colby College 7-2 in Friday night's 2018 NESCAC Women's Squash Championship first round matchup at Hamilton's Little Squash Center. The Continentals' seniors won four of the seven matches to lead Hamilton to the victory.

The Continentals (7-6 overall) are the eighth seed for the tournament and are No. 22 in the College Squash Association (CSA) rankings. The Mules are the ninth seed and ranked 24th by the CSA.

Hamilton will face the top seed in Trinity College in a NESCAC quarterfinal at Little Squash Center on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 11 a.m.

Charlotte Zonis '19 downed her opponent in four games at the second position and Grace Munschauer '18 won a tough, three-game match at the fourth position by scores of 15-13, 12-10 and 11-8. Caitlin Stern '21 came from behind at the fifth position to win in five games, including a 14-12 decision in the fourth.

Katherine Bauer '18 was successful in four games against her Colby counterpart at the sixth position, and Liesl Guenther '21 also defeated her opponent in four games at the seventh position. Marina Hartnick '18 claimed the victory in three games at the eighth position. Danielle Reisley '18 dropped just three points at the ninth position for her team-leading eighth win this season.
