Hamilton College's Michaela Giuttari '20 scored with 1:55 remaining in the first sudden-victory overtime period and lifted the nationally ranked No. 15 Continentals to a 4-3 NESCAC win against No. 18 Amherst College at the Mammoths' Gooding Field on Saturday.

Sarah Stinebaugh '19 gave Hamilton (9-2, 5-2 NESCAC) an early 1-0 lead just 3:59 into the contest. Lizzie Clarke '20 quickly restarted play after a Mammoth foul just outside the arc. Clarke ran the ball into the shooting circle and sent a centering pass to Stinebaugh for a shot past Katie Savage (six saves).

Amherst's (6-4, 2-4) Kendall Codey evened the score 1-1 off a penalty corner at 25:02. Laura Schwatzman pushed the ball into play and Codey managed to find the left corner of the goal, past a fully stretched Julia Booth '19. Booth totaled seven saves for Hamilton in the first half alone and finished with a season-high 15.

Just over a minute later, Hamilton took back the lead on a corner opportunity. Tatiana Bradley '19 pushed the ball in from the right of the cage to Cat Donahue '21 on the far side of the arc. Donahue crossed to Clarke for a high shot and Giuttari slapped the ball out of the air and into the net at 26:32. Hamilton held a 2-1 edge at the half.

The Mammoths tied the game again 3:18 into the second half during a penalty corner when Natalie Hobbs took a shot from the penalty hash and Heather Brennan tipped the ball past Booth.

The seesaw battled continued with Mary Kate Sisk '21 giving Hamilton a 3-2 edge with help from Clarke in the 65th minute, and Amherst tying the game once again with Codey's second goal of the day with 2:35 left in regulation, sending the game to overtime in a 3-3 deadlock.

Hamilton hosts Williams College on Tuesday, Oct. 9 in a NESCAC game on Goodfriend Field at 6 p.m.
