No. 13 field hockey blanked by Colby in NESCAC finale

The nationally ranked No. 13 Hamilton College field hockey team was upended 1-0 by Colby College in Waterville, Maine on Saturday afternoon.

Hamilton (10-4 overall) concludes its conference schedule with a 6-4 record and is currently fifth in the NESCAC standings. Colby (7-6) is eighth in the standings with a 3-6 NESCAC record and faces Bates on Oct. 24 for its final conference game of the regular season. The top eight teams qualify for the NESCAC championship.

After a scoreless first half, Georgia Cassidy scored the lone goal in the 62nd minute with the assist going to Eliza Mell.

The Continentals outshot the Camels 17-4 and held a 15-4 advantage in penalty corners.

Julia Booth '19 made two stops for Hamilton. Colby's Riley Whitmyer had 11 saves.

Hamilton ends the regular season on the road with a non-conference game against the No. 6 Rochester Yellowjackets on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m.
