Women's squash eases to win at Connecticut College

The Hamilton College women's squash team split a pair of matches on the road against NESCAC opponents on Jan. 13 and 14.

The Continentals (2-5 overall) defeated Connecticut College 9-0 on Saturday afternoon and dropped a 7-2 decision at Wesleyan University on Sunday afternoon. Hamilton is 25th in the College Squash Association rankings while Conn. College (2-5) is 24th and Wesleyan (5-3) is 20th.

Marina Hartnick '18 and Danielle Reisley '18 won both of their matches over the weekend and both players improved their records this season to 3-3. Hartnick didn't lose a game at the eighth position while Reisley dropped just one game at the ninth position. She clinched her victory in the Wesleyan match by a 12-10 score in the fourth game.

Six of the Continentals' nine wins against the Camels were over in three games. Rafiatou Ouro-Aguy '18 and Charlotte Zonis '19 swept their opponents in three straight at the first and second positions, respectively. Megan Grip '19 lost just eight points in her three-game match.

Grace Munschauer '18 and Caitlin Stern '21 won their matches in four games apiece at the fourth and fifth positions, respectively. Liesl Guenther '21 was a winner in three games at the sixth position and Katherine Bauer '18 picked up her 32nd career victory as she prevailed in four games at the seventh position.

Hamilton has a busy weekend coming up as the Continentals take on Colby College and Haverford College at Amherst College on Saturday, Jan. 20. Hamilton visits Mount Holyoke College and Amherst the next day.
