Box Score The Hamilton College men's hockey team dropped a 1-0 NESCAC game to host Colby College Friday night at Alfond Rink in Waterville, Maine.
The Continentals, who are ranked seventh by USCHO.com and ninth in D3hockey.com's poll, are now 12-3-4 overall with a 6-3-4 league mark. The Mules move to 9-5-4 overall and 7-3-3 in conference play.
Sean Lawrence earned his first Colby shutout and stopped 13 of his 28 shots in the third period. The Continentals had a two-man advantage for the final 1:14 of the third period after Colby was whistled for interference and Hamilton pulled goaltender Evan Buitenhuis '18. Buitenhuis made 19 saves.
Colby, now 5-0-1 in home conference games, scored the game's only goal 59 seconds into the first period after Hamilton dumped the puck in Colby's zone. Michael Rudolf won the puck in the corner and pushed a pass up to Devin Albert, who found Phil Klitirinos between the center line and the Hamilton blue line. Klitirinos went in alone on Buitenhuis and scored.
The Continentals conclude their weekend series with a 3 p.m. game at Bowdoin Saturday.
