The Hamilton College women's squash team posted an 8-1 win against NESCAC rival Connecticut College at Hamilton's Little Squash Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Continentals (5-12 overall) also won all five matches they played against Bard College on Saturday but because Bard had just five players, the result didn't count towards Hamilton's team record. The Continentals are 26th in the College Squash Association National Team Rankings and Connecticut Coll. is 29th. Hamilton defeated the Camels for the second time in eight days -- the Continentals recorded a 7-2 decision at the 2017 NESCAC Women's Squash Championship on Feb. 4.
Natalie Burkardt '18 swept her two opponents in three games while Jean Beecher '19 prevailed in a tight four-game match against Connecticut Coll. opponent Caroline Lippincott at the ninth position. Beecher and Molly Pivirotto '18 went 2-0 on the day. Pivirotto outlasted the Camels' Jacqueline Chu in a five-game thriller at the sixth position after Pivirotto lost the first two games and came all the way back with wins in the last three. Lindsay Jadow '19 and Elizabeth Lee '20 cruised to three-game triumphs against their Bard opponents.
Lillie Simourian '17 (first position), Perry Von Stade '17 (third) and Alex Regan '17 (fifth) celebrated senior day by winning their matches against Connecticut College. Charlotte Zonis '19 and Katherine Bauer '18 breezed to three-game victories at the second and fourth positions against the Camels.
Hamilton hosts Colgate University at Little Squash Center for the Continentals' last match of the regular season on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 5 p.m.
