Box Score Jason Brochu '19 scored with just two-tenths of a second remaining in the third period as the Hamilton College men's hockey team topped host Connecticut College in a NESCAC game played Friday night in New London, Conn.
The Continentals move to 14-3-4 with an 8-3-4 mark in NESCAC play. Hamilton retook sole possession of second place in the NESCAC standings, trailing Williams (9-3-3 NESCAC) with three games left in the regular season. The Continentals are ranked ninth by USCHO.com and are 10th in D3hockey.com's poll.
Brochu's goal -- his ninth of the season -- marked the first time a Continental had scored the game-winner in the final minute of the third period since Brandon Broad '12 scored with 25 seconds to go to hand host Skidmore a 4-3 loss Jan. 23, 2010.
The teams traded goals midway through the first. William White put the hosts up at the 10:48 mark with Kevin Doyle picking up the assist. With 5:50 to go in the opening period, Brandon Willett '18 scored the equalizer for the Continentals on his team-leading 12th goal of the season.
Hamilton held a 34-18 advantage in shots over the Camels (4-14-2, 2-11-2 NESCAC). Avery Gobbo made 32 saves for Connecticut College and Evan Buitenhuis '18 stopped 17 for the Continentals.
Hamilton completes its final NESCAC road weekend of the regular season with a 4 p.m. game at Tufts University on Saturday.
