Box Score The Hamilton College women's soccer team posted their eighth shutout of the season in a 1-0 NESCAC victory at Bowdoin College on Saturday afternoon.
Hamilton improves to 7-4-2 overall (3-4-2 NESCAC). The Polar Bears (7-4-1, 2-4-1) are ranked 10th in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Women's New England Regional Poll this week.
With help from Darby Philbrick '18, Cat Gambino '21 scored her third goal of the season with 19:01 left in the second half. Philbrick delivered a 15-yard pass to Gambino on the left side of the Bowdoin penalty area. Gambino cut past the defender and fired a shot into the upper-right corner of the net, past the reach of Bowdoin goalkeeper Rachel Stout (six saves).
The Continentals had a 13-10 advantage in shots while Bowdoin had the 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
Emily Dumont '18 made six stops in net to earn the shutout.
Hamilton returns to Love Field to take on Colby (4-6-2, 0-6-1) on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 11 a.m. for the Continentals' final NESCAC game of the regular season.
