Box Score Bobby Chapman '19 scored the first two goals of his Hamilton College career to lift the men's soccer team over Bowdoin College 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in Brunswick, Maine.
The victory snapped a four-game losing streak to Bowdoin. The Polar Bears are second in the NESCAC standings and ranked sixth this week in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's New England Regional Poll.
Chapman put Hamilton (6-4-2, 3-4-1 NESCAC) on the scoreboard with 13:30 left in the first half when he tapped in a rebound at the right post after Stevie Van Siclen (five saves) made the initial stop for Bowdoin. Less than two minutes later, Chapman put away a left-side feed from Aidan Wood '20. Hamilton had a two-goal lead at the half -- the most goals Bowdoin has allowed in a game this season.
Wilson MacMillan sent a penalty kick past Linds Cadwell '20 (seven saves) in the 66th minute to cut Hamilton's lead in half.
Bowdoin (9-3-0, 5-2) outshot Hamilton 17-9 and had a 6-2 corner kick advantage.
The Continentals travel to Williams College (6-1-4, 2-1-4 NESCAC) on Wednesday, Oct. 18 for a NESCAC game at 3 p.m.
