The Hamilton College men's squash team recorded a win and two losses in western Massachusetts on Jan. 21 and 22.
The Continentals (3-8 overall) opened the weekend with an 8-1 setback at Amherst College on Saturday afternoon. Hamilton recorded a 7-2 victory against Stanford University at Smith College on Sunday morning and dropped a 6-3 decision against Wesleyan University on Sunday afternoon. The Continentals had lost 8-1 against Wesleyan at the Little Squash Center back on Nov. 19.
Hamilton entered the weekend at No. 27 in the men's College Squash Association team rankings. Amherst was 20th and Wesleyan was 26th. Stanford is not ranked yet due to its club team status.
Colin O'Dowd '19 won in three games at the first position against his Amherst and Stanford opponents. O'Dowd leads the team with five wins. Tristan Chaix '20 boasted two victories, including a five-game thriller in the Wesleyan match, at the fourth position. Mark Sperry '17 was a winner in four games at the seventh position against Stanford and in three games at the sixth position against Wesleyan.
Atticus Jones '19 swept his Stanford opponent at the eighth position and Callum Sondhi '20 and Jonathan Ruth '18 were four-game winners at the second and ninth positions. Nicholas Conzelman '20 outlasted his Stanford counterpart in five games at the sixth position and James Novick-Smith '17 claimed a three-game triumph at the ninth position against Wesleyan.
The Continentals travel to Colgate University on Saturday, Jan. 28 and then head to Hobart College on Sunday, Jan. 29. Both matches start at 2 p.m.
