Volleyball sweeps past Trinity for NESCAC win

The Hamilton College volleyball team evened its NESCAC record with a three-set sweep of host Trinity College Saturday in Hartford, Conn.

The Continentals (3-3, 1-1 NESCAC) won by scores of 25-19, 25-12, 25-23.

Hamilton hit a season-high .254, collecting 41 kills with just seven errors.

Margaret O'Brien '18 (11 kills, one error) and Courtney Brown '18 (10 kills, three errors) led the Continental offense. Erin Donahue '18 and Giuliana Rankin '20 added eight kills apiece.

Kyndal Burdin '18 finished with 22 assists and was one of three Continentals to reach double figures in digs, collecting 13. Christine Zizzi '18 paced the team with a career-best 27 digs and Kendall Searcy '20 contributed 14.

O'Brien had a hand in three of Hamilton's five solo blocks, posting a total of five.

The Bantams (1-5, 0-2 NESCAC) were led by Hanna Engstrom (11 kills) and Randi Whitham (23 assists, 11 digs).

Hamilton continues NESCAC competition Friday, playing an 8 p.m. match at Middlebury.
