Second shutout in a row keeps men's soccer atop NESCAC

Box Score

The Hamilton College men's soccer team remained undefeated in NESCAC play, posting a 1-0 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams Saturday at Love Field.

The Continentals (2-1-0 overall, 2-0 NESCAC) share first place in the NESCAC standings.

The game's only goal came in the 59th minute when Spenser Heller '17 sent a long pass from in front of the Trinity bench along the right sideline toward the left post. Alec Talsania '17 dove to meet the pass and sent a header into the top left corner of the net.

The Bantams' offensive pressure resulted in a pair of scoring chances in the final 65 seconds but Hamilton goalkeeper Harris Pollack '17 stopped shots by Max Cottrell and Fernando Cuervo-Torello to preserve the win.

Pollack finished with six saves for his second consecutive shutout. He's recorded 10 shutouts in his career.

Domenic Quade made five saves for Trinity (1-3-0 overall, 0-3 NESCAC).

The Continentals continue their five-game homestand Sunday, hosting SUNY Oneonta in a non-conference game at 2 p.m.
