Box Score The Hamilton College women's hockey team won its third in a row Friday, upsetting host SUNY Oswego 3-2 in overtime. Katie Parkman '17 scored the game-winning goal with just 1.2 seconds left in overtime.
The Continentals improved to 4-2-0 overall and snapped a two-game losing streak to the Lakers, who came in ranked seventh nationally by both D3hockey.com and USCHO.com.
Parkman's game winner was her third goal and ninth point of the season. Megan Ahern '17 picked up her fifth assist on the goal and Caroline Knop '18 collected her first.
Hamilton took the lead twice with the host Lakers responding with the game-tying goal both times. Sarah Fisher '20 opened the scoring seven minutes in with her second goal of the winter. Ahern and Parkman assisted on the goal. The Lakers knotted the score at 1-1 with 6:02 to go in the opening period and the score remained at 1-1 until the 8:57 mark of the final period. Andrea Rockey '19 scored her first goal of the year with Mairead Carey '18 and Michaela Giuttari '20 each notching their first assist.
Sam Walther '18 – who's fourth in the nation in save percentage (.965) and goals against average – made 33 saves, including three in overtime.
Victoria Blake and Jacquelin White scored for the Lakers, who fell to 11-2-0.
The Continentals conclude their weekend series with another non-league game Saturday; they'll play at SUNY Cortland at 2 p.m.
