Hamilton College's Megan Ahern '17 matched her career high of three points for the second time this season and the Continentals shut out Colby College 3-0 in NESCAC action at Colby's Alfond Rink on Friday night.

Ahern scored two goals and assisted on the other. She leads the team with three goals and six points. Walther lowered her goals against average to 0.81 and her save percentage is .963. Katie Parkman '17 was credited with two assists and leads the team with five.

The Continentals (2-2-0, 2-1 NESCAC) scored all three goals in the first period. Hamilton has outscored its opponents 8-4 through four games this season.

The Mules (0-4-1, 0-2-1) recorded nine of their 16 shots on goal in the third period. Hannah Insuik turned away 30 shots for Colby.

Sarah Fisher '20 gave the Continentals a 1-0 lead at 5:34 of the first period with her first collegiate goal. Hamilton won the puck behind the net and Fisher ripped a one-timer from near the left post after taking the pass from Ahern. Parkman had an assist on Fisher's goal as well.

Ahern notched a power-play goal with just two seconds left on a Mules penalty at 12:09 of the first. Ahern was directly in front of the net when she slammed home a Parkman pass from the left side. Emily Williams '19 also picked up an assist.

Ahern made it 3-0 with 3:26 left in the period on an unassisted tally. With a number of players fighting for the puck in front of the Colby net, Ahern came away with it with her back to the goal. She quickly turned and ripped a shot past Insuik. Hamilton enjoyed a 14-4 shot advantage during the opening 20 minutes.

The two teams go at it again in Waterville, Maine, on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m.
