Hamilton College opened the 2016-17 season with two wins in three matches at Hamilton's Little Squash Center on Nov. 19 and 20.
The Continentals (2-1 overall) edged Wesleyan 5-4 on Saturday afternoon and defeated Mount Holyoke College 7-2 later that evening. Hamilton dropped a 9-0 decision against Williams on Sunday afternoon. The Continentals are 21st in the College Squash Association team rankings while Williams is 12th, Wesleyan is 24th and Mount Holyoke is 28th.
Alex Regan '17 clinched the victory against Wesleyan by rallying from a two games-to-none deficit at the fourth position. Regan captured the match against Ali Imperiale by winning the last three games by scores of 11-8, 11-7 and 11-7. Regan also won her Mount Holyoke match in three games.
Charlotte Zonis '19, Grace Munschauer '18 and Danielle Reisley '18 won their matches against Wesleyan and Mount Holyoke. Zonis swept her opponents at the third position and Reisley did the same at the seventh position. Munschauer was a winner in four games against Wesleyan and in three straight against Mount Holyoke at the fifth position.
Megan Grip '19 outlasted Wesleyan's Abigail Smith in five games at the second position. Against Mount Holyoke, Perry Von Stade '17 and Jean Beecher '19 prevailed in three games at the sixth and ninth positions, respectively. Molly Pivirotto '18 recorded a four-game triumph at the eighth position.
Hamilton is back in action on Saturday, Dec. 3 with two more matches inside the friendly confines of the Little Squash Center. The Continentals take on Tufts at 2 p.m. and then St. Lawrence University at 6 p.m.
