Box Score The Hamilton College volleyball team opened two days of competition at the Volleyball Hall of Fame Induction Tournament Friday in Northampton, Mass. The Continentals snapped a five-match losing streak with a 3-1 win against the hosts Smith College.
Hamilton (7-9 overall) dropped the first set 25-23 then bounced back to sweep the next three (25-15, 25-12, 25-10).
The Continentals were led by Erin Donahue '18, who landed 15 kills. Courtney Brown '18 added nine. Meghan Wilkinson '19 exploded for 45 assists while contributing seven digs and a pair of service aces.
Giuliana Rankin '20 finished with eight kills while Jessica Weston '17 and Margaret O'Brien '18 collected seven each.
Kendall Searcy '20 posted a team-best 17 digs. Missy Mouritsen '20 and Christine Zizzi '18 recorded nine apiece, and Mouritsen served three aces.
O'Brien's 10 blocks raise her career total to 234; that figure ranks fifth on the program's all-time list.
Maca Rojas (21 assists) and Julie Voorhes (18 digs) led the way for Smith (3-19).
Hamilton faces Bridgewater State at 10 a.m. and takes on Emmanuel at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
