Box Score

The Hamilton College women's soccer team wrapped up a weekend of NESCAC road games at Tufts University Sunday afternoon when the host Jumbos posted a 3-1 win in Somerville, Mass.

Hamilton is now 2-5-2 overall and 1-5-1 in the NESCAC. Tufts, who closed out a six-game homestand, improved to 4-2-3 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play.

The Continental goal tied the score early in the second half. Jessie Murray '19 sent a corner kick into the goal area; a shot by Kayleigh Harris '20 was saved, but Morgan Fletcher '17 was in front to strike a liner into the right side of the net for her fifth career goal and first of 2016.

Tufts retook the lead just 1:18 later. Taylor Koscho sent a 30-yard pass to the feet of Mariah Harvey-Brown who kicked it right over the head of Continental goalkeeper Rachel Cooley '18.

Hamilton had a chance to tie the game again in the 68th minute when a corner kick by Rachel Cady '19 led to a shot by Amanda Becker '18 that was saved by Tufts goalkeeper Emily Bowers.

The Jumbos closed out the scoring with less than 11 minutes left in regulation on a goal by Jess Capone. Robin Estus spun off a defender at midfield and sent a pass through another defender to Capone, who broke from the line of Continental defenders to net a top right corner goal.

Bowers saved three shots and Cooley recorded eight saves.

Tufts scored the only goal of the first half in the 29th minute. Brooke Fortin's corner kick was headed by Chandler Quintin and dropped in front of the goal where Margaret Zahrah sent a shot into the net.

The Continentals finish their three-game road stretch at Amherst Saturday with a noon start.
