Hamilton and Hartwick play to overtime tie

Box Score

The Hamilton College women's soccer team wrapped up its home schedule Sunday afternoon, hosting a non-conference game against Hartwick and playing the Hawks to a 1-1 tie in two overtimes.

The Continentals are now 3-7-3 on the season.

Katja Dunlap '18 scored Hamilton's goal, putting the Continentals ahead in the 66th minute, sending a shot from about 25 yards out over the defense and inside the right post. The goal was her first of the season and the eighth of her career.

The Hawks tied the score just 1:18 later when Kiley Richardson sent a pass to Madison Miller above the top of the box; Miller's header got past Hamilton's charging goalkeeper and into the net.

The visitors had a chance at the game-winner late in the second overtime when Megan Marucsak gained control of a goal kick from Hamilton's Rachel Cooley '18, dribbled it into the box and then fired a shot from the top right corner of the box that Cooley fielded off the line.

Cooley finished with one save after coming in after halftime. Emily Dumont '18 started in goal and turned away all three shots she faced. Megan McGillycuddy stopped 11 shots for Hartwick (6-4-3).

Hamilton wraps up NESCAC play Saturday, facing the Colby Mules in an 11 a.m. game in Waterville, Maine.
