Box Score The Hamilton College women's soccer team opened its final weekend homestand Saturday, hosting the Bowdoin Polar Bears at Love Field. The visitors scored a goal in each half on their way to a 2-0 NESCAC victory.
The Continentals are now 3-7-2 overall and 1-7-1 in conference play. Bowdoin improved to 8-3-0 with a 4-2 NESCAC mark.
Emma Beane and Claire Dardinski scored Bowdoin's goals. Beane gained control of the ball inside midfield and took it to the top of the box before firing a shoulder-high shot to the right side of the net to open the scoring midway through the opening period. The Polar Bears' pressure resulted in an insurance goal with just 2:43 left in regulation. A shot by Dardinski was saved by Hamilton goalkeeper Emily Dumont '18 and the rebound wound up at the feet of Brigit Bergin, who sent the ball back to Dardinski at point-blank range for a 2-0 lead.
Dumont finished with seven saves and Bowdoin's Rachel Stout turned aside six shots to earn the shutout.
The Continentals play their final home game Sunday, hosting Hartwick in a non-league game at 1 p.m. at Love Field.
