Mike Fornino joined the Hamilton College men's soccer staff as an assistant coach in 1999. Fornino earned United Soccer Coaches all-America honors at Herkimer College where he played on the school's first national championship team.

Fornino continued his playing career at the University of Tampa for the NCAA Division II Spartans.
