Matt Guinto joined the Hamilton men's soccer staff as an assistant coach in August 2025. He was the head coach at Marywood University for three seasons from 2022 to 2024.
Guinto guided Marywood to the Atlantic East Conference tournament every year and the team advanced to the semifinals in each of his last two seasons. The Pacers hosted and won a postseason match for the first time since they joined the Atlantic East, and he had four players on the all-conference team.
Prior to Marywood, Guinto was an assistant coach at Vassar College from 2019 to 2021, and was the associate head coach for the 2021 season. Vassar finished 11-4-2 overall and 5-2-2 in the Liberty League in 2021, and hosted a league championship first round match. The Brewers set a team record for fewest goals allowed, put six players on the all-league team and placed two on the all-region squad.
Guinto was an assistant coach at Utica University in 2017 and 2018, and recently served brief stints on staffs with the Hudson Valley Crusaders of the United Women's Soccer League 2 and the New York Shockers of the National Premier Soccer League. Before Utica he worked with various organizations including ODP and Coerver, and had success at the club level with teams in Binghamton, N.Y. He has multiple certifications and licenses from United Soccer Coaches and U.S. Soccer Federation.
Guinto's playing experience includes Greater Binghamton FC in the National Premier Soccer League from 2013 to 2015 as he helped them win their division each season. He also played at St. John Fisher College and was a team captain with the Cardinals. Guinto graduated with a bachelor's degree in management and marketing in 2011 and has a master's degree from Utica.
