Jake Taggart joined the Hamilton football coaching staff as the receivers coach in May 2026. He brings five years of experience as an assistant coach to the Continentals.
Taggart was the special teams coordinator, recruiting coordinator and wide receivers/tight ends coach at Allegheny College from 2023 through the 2025 season. He was also the head coach and offensive coordinator of the junior varsity team. Taggart coached several all-conference team selections and one player collected all-region honors and set a school record for receptions and receiving yards in a season.
Prior to Allegheny, Taggart was the wide receivers coach at Alfred University in 2021 and 2022. The Saxons went 4-2 in the Empire 8 Athletic Conference his first season with the team.
Taggart was a tight end for Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) member Lafayette College from 2017 to 2021. He made first team all-Patriot League after the 2021 spring season and earned the Leopards’ Dave Nelson ’06 Award of Valor, which is given to a player who displays an exceptional amount of heart and courage. Taggart graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He hails from Bath, N.Y., and attended Haverling High School.
