Humphreys '21 collects women's cross country all-region honors

Hamilton College's Brigit Humphreys '21 (Sherman, Conn./New Milford HS) has been recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association with all-region honors for the 2019 NCAA Division III cross country season.

Humphreys is on the all-region list for the first time. An athlete must finish in the top 35 at one of the eight NCAA regional championship sites across the country in order to receive all-region honors.

Humphreys finished in 11th place out of 274 runners with a personal-record time of 22:42.4 on St. Lawrence University's 6-kilometer course at the NCAA Atlantic Region championships on Saturday. She smashed her previous career-best time by 36 seconds and will be racing in the NCAA championships for the first time.

The 2019 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be held at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday, Nov. 23. The women's race is scheduled to get underway at 11:45 a.m.
