Women's cross country places 10th at NESCAC Championships

The Hamilton College Continentals finished in 10th place out of 11 women's teams in the 2019 NESCAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships at Mount Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown, Mass., on Saturday afternoon.

Brigit Humphreys '21 paced Hamilton in 19th place out of 146 athletes with a personal-record time of 23:18.4 on the 6-kilometer course. Natasha Lane '21 was next in 38th place and a time of 23:46.4 and Liza Greene '22 ended up in 66th place in 24:12.6. Courtney Brunet '20 was 75th with a career-best time of 24:29.1 and Haley Driscoll '21 rounded out the Continentals' top five in 85th place and a time of 24:45.7.

Hamilton's team score was 239 points. Nationally ranked No. 4 Williams College -- the host school -- captured the team title with 58 points. No. 6 Tufts University was the runner-up with 90 and No. 16 Bates College ended up third with 110. No. 18 Middlebury College finished fourth with 125 points and No. 31 Wesleyan University landed in sixth place with 167.

The Continentals are off next weekend and return on Saturday, Nov. 16 for the NCAA Division III Atlantic Region championships at St. Lawrence University.
