Women's cross country captures own invitational team title

The Hamilton College Continentals finished in first place out of seven women's teams in their 2019 Hamilton Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning.

Five of the top six finishers were Continentals as they cruised to the team title with 20 team points. SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry was runner-up with 39 points and Ithaca College ended up in third place with 69.

Brigit Humphreys '21 led Hamilton in second place out of 79 runners with a time of 19:05.9 on the soft 5-kilometer course. Katie Jenkinson '23 was third in 19:30.1 and Natasha Lane '21 followed closely behind in fourth place with a time of 19:30.3. Liza Greene '22 finished about a second behind Lane in fifth place with a personal-record time of 19:31.4 and Haley Driscoll '21 crossed the finish line in sixth place and a time of 19:47.2. Courtney Brunet '20 landed in 11th place in 20:17.7 and Katie Cronin '21 rounded out the Continentals' top seven in 16th place and a time of 20:28.9.

Hamilton competes in St. Lawrence University's Ronald C. Hoffmann Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 12.
