Hamilton College captured first place out of nine teams in its own 2018 Hamilton Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning.

Grace Heller '19 led the Continentals as she was the individual race winner with a time of 18:27.8 on the 5-kilometer course. Heller, who was selected the NESCAC Performer of the Week on Oct. 1 after finishing third at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Saratoga Invitational last Saturday, hit the tape more than 31 seconds ahead of the runner-up.

Brigit Humphreys '21 was next for Hamilton in sixth place out of 87 runners with a time of 19:26.6. Mary Lundin '19 ended up right behind Humphreys in seventh place (19:36.2), Liza Greene '22 landed in ninth place (19:38.8) and Mia Schiel '22 gave the Continentals five runners in the top 10 (19:59.1). Andy Uribe '19 was 11th (20:03) and Katie Cronin '21 rounded out Hamilton's top seven in 12th place (20:03.6).

The Continentals -- ranked seventh in the Atlantic Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association -- registered just 33 team points. Division II Le Moyne College was second with 68 and Ithaca College was third with 69. Ithaca is ranked 10th in the region.

Hamilton won't compete again until its Short Course Tuneup on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 11 a.m.
