No. 28 women's cross country places 11th at Williams meet

Nationally ranked No. 28 Hamilton College finished in 11th place out of 13 teams at the 2018 Williams Purple Valley Women's Cross Country Classic held at Mount Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown, Mass., on Saturday afternoon.

Brigit Humphreys '21 led the Continentals in 31st place out of 129 runners with a time of 23:53.8 on the 6-kilometer course. Haley Driscoll '21 followed in 67th place and a personal-best time of 24:55.4. Mary Lundin '19 ended up in 73rd place with a time of 25:00 and Courtney Brunet '20 was right behind Lundin in 74th place and a time of 25:05. Emily Yong '19 rounded out Hamilton's top five in 80th place with a time of 25:14.5.

The Continentals finished with 284 team points. No. 4 Massachusetts Institute of Technology captured the team title with 67 points and No. 8 Williams was runner-up with 81. No. 14 Tufts landed in third place with 114 points and No. 6 Middlebury was fourth with 129. No. 12 RPI ended up in fifth place just two points behind Middlebury.

Hamilton travels to Saratoga Spa State Park in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., for RPI's Saratoga Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 29.
