Women’s track & field distance medley relay second at Utica invitational

The Hamilton College women's distance medley relay finished second at the Blue and Orange Track & Field Invitational hosted by Utica College on Saturday at the Todd and Jen Hutton Sports & Recreation Center.

Hamilton finished 10th of 20 teams with 34 points. Ithaca College took the team title with 171 points, Lock Haven University placed second with 91.5 points and Utica finished third with 65 points.

The relay of Liza Greene '22, Kate Labosky '22, Mia Schiel '22 and Katie Jenkinson '23 finished with a time of 13:14.41. St. Lawrence edged the Continentals in a time of 13:13.70.

Madison Monroe '23 led the sprinters with a second-place finish in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:21.83. Jenkinson took third in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:16.94, Schiel placed sixth in the mile run in a time of 5:35.52 and Courtney Brunet '20 finished sixth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:03.57.

Andrea Shipton '22 finished fifth in the pole vault with a height of 3.20 meters (10 feet, 6 inches).

Hamilton is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 15 at Colgate University's Class of '32 Invitational.
