Hamilton College competed at the 2019 All-Atlantic Region Division III Track and Field Conference Indoor Championships at Ithaca College's Glazer Arena Athletics and Events Center on Friday.
The Continentals competed in five separate events on the first day of competition that included the men's and women's 5,000-meter run, women's 4x400-meter relay, women's triple jump and women's 60-meter dash preliminary heats.
Cat Berry '19 kicked off the weekend championships in the preliminaries of the 60 meters. She finished second in the third heat by lowering her own program record from 7.96 seconds to 7.90. Berry is seeded fifth in the final and Ithaca's Amanda Wetmore is seeded first with a prelim time of 7.87 seconds.
Bryce Murdick '20 medaled (seventh place) in the 5,000 meters with a personal-best time of 15:07.01. It was the third time this season that Murdick improved his career-best time. Grace Heller '19 finished the 5,000 meters in 18:53.99.
Alanna McGill '21, Marie Steiner '20, Caitlin McHugh '20 and Liza Greene '22 ran a 4:09.47 in the 4x400-meter relay and finished in eighth place, and Diamond Jackson '21 bounded a distance of 10.54 meters in the triple jump.
Hamilton wraps up the regional championships on Saturday, March 2 starting at 10 a.m.
