Two women's track & field program records fall at Utica College

Hamilton College's Cat Berry '19 and Kyandreia Jones '19 broke their own team records in two events at the 2018 Utica College Track & Field Pioneer Winter Classic at the Hutton Sports and Recreation Center on Saturday.

This was the first event of the indoor season for the Continentals. The Hamilton women won't compete again until Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, when they host their own indoor invitational inside Margaret Bundy Scott Field House at 4 p.m.

Berry cut more than two seconds off her previous record in the 300-meter dash and finished first with a facility-record time of 41.09 seconds. She also led a trio of Continentals who finished in the top eight in the 200-meter dash as she won the event with a time of 26.30 seconds.

Jones ended up eighth in the 60-meter hurdle finals with a time of 9.95 seconds. Her old record time of 9.97 seconds was set in February of 2017.

Alanna McGill '21 finished fifth and posted a personal-record time of 1:45.86 in the 600-meter run. Diamond Jackson '21 landed in sixth place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.79 seconds and Willa Rose '19 was eighth in 28.13 seconds. Natasha Lane '21 took seventh place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:35.13. The quartet of Berry, Caitlin McHugh '20, McGill and Lane finished seventh in the 1,600-meter relay in 4:20.72.

Andrea Shipton '22 helped lead the field event athletes by finishing fifth in the pole vault with a height of 3.05 meters. Lindsey Royce '22 was fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 9.89 meters and Emily Steates '19 was close behind in seventh place at 9.72 meters. Jackson tied for sixth place in the high jump as she cleared 1.46 meters.
