Women's tennis team lauded for exceptional academic work

Five members of the Hamilton College women's tennis team have earned 2019 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete status.

2019 ITA All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes release

ITA scholar-athletes must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of 3.50 or better for the 2018-19 academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters. Hamilton's honorees are listed below.

Jane Haffer '19 (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany HS)
Ajla Karabegovic '21 (Victor, N.Y./Victor Senior HS)
Ndanu Mutisya '21 (Dorchester, Mass./Brookline HS)
Eleanor Struthers '22 (West Hartford, Conn./Loomis Chaffee School)

The Continentals -- led by head coach Matt Brisotti -- also picked up the ITA All-Academic Team award for the fifth straight year. The award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or better for the current academic year.

The Hamilton women finished the 2018-19 season at No. 40 in the final ITA Division III Team Rankings. The Continentals ended up 13th in the Northeast Region team rankings as they posted a dual match record of 11-4 including 3-3 in the NESCAC. Hamilton defeated Colby College, Trinity College and Connecticut College in conference matches.
