No. 39 women's tennis breezes to 9-0 win at Ithaca

The Hamilton College Continentals posted a 9-0 non-conference win against the Ithaca College Bombers at Ithaca's Wheeler Tennis Complex on Thursday.

Hamilton (10-3 overall) won its fourth straight match and has eight victories in its last nine. The Continentals are 39th in the Oracle/ITA Division III women's national team rankings and 13th in the Northeast Region rankings. The Bombers' record dropped to 3-12 with the setback.

Five Hamilton players won their singles and doubles matches. Sophia Aulicino '21, who is 19th in the ITA Northeast Region singles rankings, lost just one game in her first flight singles match. Aulicino has a team-best 17 singles wins and is 30-11 in her career with the Continentals. Audrey Chor '21 is 11-6 after she triumphed at second flight singles. Aulicino and Chor teamed up at first flight doubles for their 12th victory.

Kat Roberts '22 surrendered one game in her win at fourth flight singles and improved her record to 15-3. Ajla Karabegovic '21 was an easy winner at fifth flight singles and is 11-5 this season. Roberts and Karabegovic edged their opponents in a tiebreaker at second flight doubles and are 12-4 as a pairing.

Jane Haffer '19 recorded her 42nd career singles win as she prevailed in third flight action. Haffer and Sarah Bargamian '22 were easy winners at third flight doubles. Becca Ingber '22 rounded out the lineup with a victory at sixth flight singles.

Hamilton has a NESCAC match at Connecticut College on Saturday, April 27 at 10 a.m.
