The Hamilton College Continentals defeated the Trinity College Bantams in a tight 5-4 NESCAC match on Saturday inside Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House.

The Continentals (8-3, 2-2 NESCAC) are ranked 39th in the most recent Oracle/ITA Division III Women's National Team Rankings and are 13th in the Northeast Region. The Hamilton women are back in action on Wednesday, April 24 at 4:30 p.m. against William Smith College at the Tietje Family Tennis Center for their final home match of the season.

The hero of the match was Becca Ingber '22, who clinched the deciding fifth team point by defeating Ashley Walker at sixth flight singles. The match score was tied at 4-4 and Ingber lost the first set, but she recovered with a convincing 6-1 win in the second set and won an exciting third set that went to a tiebreaker.

Ingber and Ajla Karabegovic '21 teamed up for a win in third flight doubles action. Ingber replaced Kat Roberts '22 as Karabegovic's doubles partner just minutes before the match when Roberts suffered an injury during warmups. Karabegovic also won convincingly at fourth flight singles, dropping only four games.

Sophia Aulicino '21 recorded her team-high 15th singles win with a victory at first flight. Aulicino is ranked 14th in the Oracle/ITA Division III Women's Singles Rankings for the Northeast Region. Audrey Chor '21 followed suit at second flight singles, winning in straight sets. The Continentals celebrated their senior players, Jane Haffer '19 and Emma Weller '19, and their contributions to the program.
