Logan '20 leads women's swimming and diving to win at Utica

Hamilton College's Sadie Logan '20 finished first in three events and was part of a winning relay for the Continentals as they cruised to victory at Utica College on Friday night.

Hamilton posted 240 points to Utica's 42. The Continentals host Trinity College in a dual meet at Bristol Pool on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m.

Logan finished more than six seconds ahead of the runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:02.32. She captured first place in the 100 free in 55.05 seconds and took the top spot in the 100 individual medley (1:02.63). She led off the 200 medley relay that posted a winning time of 1:55.30. Julia Martin '21, Kenzie Burton '22 and Sam Karlson '23 filled out the relay.

Martin swept the breaststroke events with a time of 33.55 seconds in the 50 breast and a time of 1:11.95 in the 100. Karlson led off the winning 200 free relay as the Continentals recorded a time of 1:45.89. Abby Roller '21, Claire Campbell '22 and Lucy Hamann '22 joined Karlson on the relay.

Patricia Shiebler '21 was a double winner as she grabbed first place in the 1,000 free (11:43.23) and the 500 free (5:43.45). Meredith Gioia '22 touched the wall first in the 50 backstroke with a time of 29.18 seconds and Lucy Elliott '23 was first in the 100 back (1:02.81).

Tatum Barclay '22 took first in the 100 butterfly (1:05.35) and Karly Leiman '22 was the winner in the 50 fly with a time of 28.52 seconds. Just two-tenths of a second seperated the top three finishers as Hamann was runner-up in 28.59 second and Elliott ended up in third place with a time of 28.72 seconds.

Campbell was the best sprinter as she finished first in the 50 free with a time of 26.40 seconds. Carolyn Gevinski '22 was a winner in the 1-meter springboard diving event with 327.55 points.
