Eight swimmers compete in evening finals at NESCAC meet

Six Hamilton College swimmers added their names to the team's top 10 times list at the 2019 NESCAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championships at Wesleyan University's Natatorium on Saturday.

Kenzie Burton '22 took second place in the consolation final (10th overall) of the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.70 seconds. Burton's performance is good for second place on the top times list.

Isabelle Lepesant '21 ended up seventh in the preconsolation final (23rd overall) of the 100 fly in 59.53 seconds. Lepesant's faster time of 58.82 seconds in the morning's preliminary heats puts her in fifth place on the top times list. Lucy Hamann '22 was right behind Lepesant in eighth place (24th overall) in the 100 fly preconsolation final with a time of 1:00.12. Hamann's prelim time of 59.03 seconds lands her in seventh place on the top times list.

Sadie Logan '20 claimed fourth place in the consolation final (12th overall) of the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.35 seconds. Meredith Gioia '22 captured first place in the preconsolation final (17th overall) of the 100 back in 59.01 seconds. Gioia moved into fifth place on the top times list.

Julia Martin '21 grabbed seventh place in the consolation final (15th overall) of the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:08.14. Martin was slightly faster in the morning's prelims in 1:08.06, which puts her in fifth place on the top times list. Jillian Rhodes '22 was seventh in the preconsolation final (23rd overall) of the 100 breast in 1:09.22. Rhodes' prelim time of 1:08.67 has her in ninth place on the top times list.

Caroline Paulson '21 finished sixth in the preconsolation final (22nd overall) of the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:47.47.

The fourth and final day of the championships gets underway on Sunday, Feb. 17 with the preliminary heats at 10 a.m. followed by the finals at 5:30 p.m.
