Swimmers, divers win three events for Hamilton women at RIT

Hamilton College's two seniors led the Continentals in a dual meet loss against Rochester Institute of Technology at RIT's Judson Pool on Saturday afternoon.

Hamilton has a 2-3 record in dual meets this season after the 161-132 setback. The Tigers received votes in the latest Division III Top 25 coaches poll.

The Continentals' Madeleine Lepesant '19 took first place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:14.92. In diving Sarah Pickup '19 earned first place in the 1-meter springboard event with 196.85 points and the 3-meter board with 207.85 points.

Lucy Hamann '22 was runner-up in the 200 backstroke (2:13.36) and the 100 fly (1:01.85). Jillian Rhodes '22 grabbed second place in the 200 breaststroke (2:38.65).

Meredith Gioia '22 landed in second place in the 200 individual medley (2:19.77) and third place in the 100 back (1:02.49). Sadie Logan '20 ended up in third place in the 100 freestyle with a time of 56.89 seconds and the 200 free (2:05.64). Julia Martin '21 was third in the 50 free in 26.27 seconds and Kenzie Burton '22 was right behind Hamann in the 100 fly in third place with a time of 1:02.03.

Hamilton returns to Bristol Pool on Wednesday, Jan. 23 with another dual meet against Union College at 6:30 p.m. The Continentals will honor their seniors before the meet.
