Martin '21 wins two events for women's swimming & diving

Hamilton College's Julia Martin '21 swept the breaststroke events as the Continentals took on Colby College in a dual meet at Trinity College's Natatorium on Sunday afternoon.

Colby emerged with the victory by the score of 170-129. Hamilton is back in action on Saturday, Jan. 12 at Rochester Institute of Technology. The Continentals will also compete against Ithaca College at RIT.

Martin posted winning times of 1:11.55 in the 100-yard breast and 2:34.21 in the 200 breast. She was also runner-up in the 400 individual medley (4:58.70).

Sadie Logan '20 captured the top spot in the 100 backstroke (1:01.68) and took second place in the 200 back (2:14.25). Meredith Gioia '22 was a winner in the 100 freestyle with a time of 57.58 seconds and finished fourth in the 50 free in 26.75 seconds.

Jillian Rhodes '22 finished second behind Martin in the 200 breast (2:37.38) and was third in the 100 breast (1:12.12). Madeleine Lepesant '19 grabbed second place in the 200 butterfly (2:17.64), Claire Campbell '22 earned second place in the 50 free in 26.65 seconds, and Kenzie Burton '22 was runner-up in the 100 fly (1:00.70).

Lucy Hamann '22 landed in third place in the 100 back (1:03.54) and the 500 free (5:26.15). Patricia Shiebler '21 ended up third in the 1,000 free (11:28.16) and Phoebe Parker '22 was fourth in the 100 free with a time of 58.13 seconds.

In diving Sarah Pickup '19 claimed first place in the 1-meter springboard with 208.94 points and was third in the 3-meter board with 159.30 points.
