Logan '20 a backstroke winner for women's swimming & diving

Hamilton College's Sadie Logan '20 finished in first place in the 25-yard backstroke in a dual meet against Wesleyan University at Wesleyan's Natatorium on Saturday afternoon.

The Continentals fell to the Cardinals by a score of 183-94. Hamilton -- now 2-1 in dual meets -- takes on Colby College at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., on Sunday, Jan. 6 at noon.

Logan's winning time was 13.59 seconds. She was also runner-up in the 50 back in 28.87 seconds.

Lucy Hamann '22 was involved in the most exciting race of the day as she was edged by .32 seconds for the top spot in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:25.71. Hamann also took second in the 200 free (2:02.91).

Kenzie Burton '22 ended up second in the 50 butterfly with a time of 27.66 seconds and the 25 fly in 12.92 seconds. Meredith Gioia '22 finished second in the 100 individual medley (1:04.35) and Karly Leiman '22 grabbed third place out of 11 swimmers in the 25 fly with a time of 13.00 seconds. Phoebe Parker '22 and Claire Campbell '22 tied for third place in the 50 free with identical times of 26.71 seconds. 

In diving, Sarah Pickup '19 landed in second place in the 1-meter springboard with 208.27 points and the 3-meter board with 158.54 points.
