Women's swimming & diving posts 2nd dual win this weekend

The Hamilton College Continentals wrapped up a big weekend with a dual meet victory against SUNY New Paltz at Hamilton's Bristol Pool on Saturday afternoon.

One day after the Continentals defeated Utica College, Hamilton came away with a 181-98 win against the Hawks. The Continentals are 2-0 in dual meets so far this season. Hamilton hosts its own invitational on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.

Lucy Hamann '22 finished first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:02.17 and captured the top spot in the 500 free in 5:25.12. Julia Martin '21 won the 200 breaststroke (2:33.76) by .12 seconds and prevailed in the 200 individual medley (2:17.26).

Patricia Shiebler '21 was a winner in the 1,000 free (11:31.67). Meredith Gioia '22 edged Sadie Logan '20 for first place in the 100 backstroke by just .09 seconds with a time of 1:01.35.

Madeleine Lepesant '19 grabbed first place in the 200 butterfly (2:15.67), Claire Campbell '22 touched the wall first in the 50 free with a time of 26.21 seconds, and Logan won the 200 back (2:14.94). Jessica Khanna '21 (57.66 seconds) and Kenzie Burton '22 (57.70 seconds) were second and third, respectively, in a 100 free race where the top three finishers were separated by just .29 seconds. Burton took first place in the 100 fly (1:01.49).

Sarah Pickup '19 recorded a score of 225.15 points in 1-meter springboard diving and racked up 180.37 points in the 3-meter event.
