Women's swimmers win three events at home against RIT

Hamilton College swimmers finished first in three events in a dual meet against Rochester Institute of Technology at Hamilton's Bristol Pool on Sunday afternoon.

The Continentals fell to RIT by the score of 184-112 in their third meet in three days. Hamilton received several great performances in the team's first home event in nearly two months.

Madeleine Lepesant '19 captured first place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:15.60. Sadie Logan '20 claimed the top spot in the 100 freestyle in 57.13 seconds and was third in the 200 free (2:04.86). Julia Martin '21 touched the wall first in the 200 individual medley (2:16.11) and was runner-up in the 200 breaststroke (2:32.45).

Emma Raynor '18 finished second in the 1,000 free (11:21.56), 200 backstroke (2:15.14) and 200 IM (2:19.72). Isabelle Lepesant '21 was second behind older sister Madeleine in the 200 fly (2:16.64) and earned second place in the 100 fly (1:02.34). Isabelle Lepesant grabbed third place in the 200 IM (2:21.45) as the Continentals swept the top three places in the 200 IM.

Jessica Khanna '21 was runner-up in the 50 free in 26.90 seconds and Hana Lindsey '20 finished third right behind Khanna in 27.01 seconds. Khanna ended up fourth in the 100 free with a time of 57.83 seconds as the top four finishers were separated by seven-tenths of a second. 

Erin Lewis '18 took second place in the 100 breast (1:12.16). Katie Weinzierl '21 landed in third place in the 100 back (1:04.19) and Jess Halladay '18 was third in the 500 free (5:32.63).

Hamilton hosts Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 1 p.m. in their final dual meet of the 2017-18 season.
