The Hamilton College women's swimming and diving team dropped their first meet of 2018 at Union College by a score of 155-125 in Schenectady on Friday night.
In Hamilton's first of three meets this weekend, three swimmers finished first in the individual events. Emma Raynor '18 won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.61. Jess Halladay '18 captured the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:27.55. There was some family friendly competition in the 100 butterfly as Isabelle Lepesant '21 claimed the top time of 1:03.02. Older sister Madeleine Lepesant '19 was right on her tail with a time of 1:03.08.
Raynor claimed second place in the 200 back with a time of 2:13.67. Sadie Logan '20 also finished second in the 100 back with a time of 1:01.98, which was less than a half-second behind Raynor. Julia Martin '21 finished second in the 200 breaststroke and the 200 free with times of 2:34.42 and 2:02.87, respectively. Madeleine Lepesant took second place in the 200 fly with a time of 2:17.01. Erin Lewis '18 claimed second place in the 100 breast just .08 seconds behind the winner with a time of 1:12.57. In the 1,000 free Halladay took home second place with a time of 11:09.22.
On Saturday the Continentals travel to Williamstown, Mass., to take on both Williams and Middlebury in their first NESCAC matchup of the season at 1 p.m.
