Hamilton places 9th at NESCAC women's swimming & diving meet

Hamilton College finished in ninth place after the third and final evening of competition at the 2017 NESCAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at Bowdoin College's Greason Pool in Brunswick, Maine, on Sunday.

The Continentals placed two swimmers in the top 24 of the 1,650-yard freestyle. Jessie Halladay '18 took 16th place with a time of 17:57.83 and Madeleine Lepesant '19 was 21st in 18:23.87. Halladay's performance is good for fourth place on the team's top times list.

Emma Raynor '18 landed in fifth place in the pre-consolation final (21st overall) of the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:10.33. Raynor's swim moves her up to fifth place on the program's top times list.

Lepesant came back after the 1,650 free and ended up seventh in the pre-consolation final (23rd overall) of the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:19.14. She posted a faster time of 2:12.69 in the morning's preliminary heats.

Hamilton racked up 388 points while Williams College captured the team title with 1,856 points.
