Women's squash falls at Wesleyan in national team championships

The Hamilton College Continentals dropped a 6-3 decision against Wesleyan University in a Walker Cup consolation bracket match at the 2019 College Squash Association National Team Championships played at Wesleyan's Rosenbaum Squash Center on Saturday afternoon.

Hamilton (10-9 overall) concludes the championship weekend with a match against St. Lawrence University at Wesleyan at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24. The Continentals are 22nd in the Dunlop College Squash Rankings and the Cardinals are 23rd. Wesleyan edged Hamilton 5-4 in the 2019 NESCAC Women's Squash Championship at Trinity College on Feb. 10.

Three matches near the bottom of the ladder went the full five games and the Continentals won one of those matches. Lindsay Jadow '19 clinched her victory at the sixth position by winning 11-8 in the fifth game. Jadow improved her record to 13-6 and she's second on the team with those 13 wins.

Caitlin Stern '21 was a winner in four games at the third position for her ninth victory this season. Maddie Sakheim '22 prevailed in four games at the eighth position and moved her record to 14-5. Sakheim leads the team in wins and is 6-5 against NESCAC opponents.
