Women's squash drops national team championships opener

The Hamilton College Continentals dropped a 9-0 decision against Bates College in the 2019 College Squash Association National Team Championships at Wesleyan University's Rosenbaum Squash Center on Friday afternoon.

The teams were playing in the Walker Cup quarterfinals. Hamilton (10-8 overall) is 22nd in the Dunlop College Squash Rankings and Bates is 19th. The Continentals take on No. 23 Wesleyan in a Walker Cup consolation bracket match on Saturday, Feb. 23 at noon.

Charlotte Zonis '19 and Maddie Sakheim '22 extended their matches to four games at the first and eighth positions. Megan Grip '19 was edged 12-10 in each of the first two games at the second position. The Bobcats defeated Hamilton 9-0 in a NESCAC championship consolation bracket match on Feb. 9 at Trinity College.
