Women's squash dominates Colgate for second time in a week

The Hamilton College Continentals defeated Colgate University 9-0 on Saturday afternoon in neighboring Hamilton, New York.

This was the second meeting between the teams this season as Hamilton blanked Colgate just a week ago on Jan. 26. The Continentals (8-4 overall) have not dropped a team point to their opponents in the last three matches. Hamilton is 21st in the College Squash Team Rankings while Colgate is 37th.

Charlotte Zonis '19 led the team at the first position, recording the win in three games. Megan Grip '19 and Caitlin Stern '21 followed suit at the second and third positions, respectively. Sydney Soloway '22 (fourth position) and Liesl Guenther '21 (fifth) defeated their opponents in three games as well.

The Continentals dominated in the bottom half of the ladder as well. Lindsay Jadow '19 knocked off her opponent in three games at the sixth position and improved her record to 9-3. Eleanor Struthers '22 recorded the victory in three games at the seventh position, Maddie Sakheim '22 won her team-leading 10th match at the eighth position, and Jean Beecher '19 was triumphant at the ninth position in three games. Both Struthers and Beecher have 8-4 records.

The Continentals head to Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, for the 2019 NESCAC Women's Squash Championship on Friday, Feb. 8. Match times and opponents are to be determined.
