Women's squash blanks second straight opponent

The Hamilton College Continentals cruised to a 9-0 win against Vassar College at Vassar's squash courts on Tuesday night.

All nine Hamilton players won their matches in three straight games. The Continentals (7-4 overall) are 21st in the College Squash Team Rankings while Vassar is at No. 32.

Charlotte Zonis '19 collected the 37th win of her Hamilton career as she defeated Sydney Nemphos at the first position. Megan Grip '19 was a winner at the second position -- her 26th with the Continentals. Caitlin Stern '21 allowed just one point in the third game of her match at the third position.

Sydney Soloway '22 was victorious at the fourth position and moved her record above .500 at 6-5. Liesl Guenther '21 triumphed at the fifth position and has five wins this season. Lindsay Jadow '19 is second on the team with eight wins after her three-game sweep at the sixth position.

Eleanor Struthers '22 won at the seventh position and is 7-4, and Maddie Sakheim '22 leads Hamilton with nine wins after her convincing victory at the eighth position. Jean Beecher '19 surrendered just nine points at the ninth position and improved her record to 7-4.

The Continentals travel to No. 37 Colgate University on Saturday, Feb. 2. Hamilton defeated Colgate 9-0 at Little Squash Center on Jan. 26.
