Women's squash breezes to 9-0 win over Colgate on Saturday

The Hamilton College Continentals defeated neighboring Colgate University 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at Hamilton's Little Squash Center.

The Continentals (6-4 overall) celebrated senior leaders Jean Beecher '19, Megan Grip '19, Lindsay Jadow '19 and Charlotte Zonis '19 before they played their last home match. The women are currently 22nd in the College Squash Team Rankings while Colgate sits at No. 33.

At the first position, Zonis defeated Freesia Ferrantino in three games. Grip followed suit at the second position, winning in three games and yielding only seven points to Cristina Johnson.

Caitlin Stern '21 and Sydney Soloway '22 were victorious in three games at the third and fourth positions, respectively.

At the fifth and sixth positions, Liesl Guenther '21 and Jadow defeated their opponents in three games. Eleanor Struthers '22 surrendered just one point in each of the first two games of her match at the seventh position and cruised to the win in three.

Maddie Sakheim '22 swiftly defeated Charlotte Carey at the eighth position for her team-leading eighth win in 10 matches. Beecher claimed the win at the ninth position, yielding only three points during the first two games. 

The women travel to No. 32 Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, on Tuesday Jan. 29 for a match scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
