Colby College's Katie Senechal scored twice, including the game-winner in the 87th minute, and the Mules posted a 3-2 win over the Hamilton College Continentals in Waterville, Maine on Saturday.

Hamilton (7-4-3 overall) concludes its NESCAC schedule with a 4-4-2 conference record and is currently fifth in the standings. Colby (6-6-1, 2-6-1 NESCAC) plays its final conference game of the season on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Bates College. The Mules move up the standings to a tie for eighth place with Connecticut College. The top eight teams qualify for the NESCAC championship.

The Continentals jumped out to a 1-0 lead at 39:42. Colby attempted to clear the ball out of its own corner but Cat Gambino '21 took control of the ball outside the box and launched a shot into the opposite upper-left corner. Gambino leads the team with eight goals and 19 points this season.

The Mules tied the game 29 seconds before the end of the first half when they were rewarded a free kick 20 yards out and Hanna Brozdowski wrapped the ball around the wall and inside the left post.

Senechal quickly gave Colby a 2-1 lead less than two minutes into the second half. Hamilton attempted to clear a corner kick, but Sophia Oliveira sent a short cross to the back post for a Senechal header into the right side of the net. Senechal also headed in the game-winner with 3:03 remaining in the contest with help from Charlotte White.

Hamilton's Alex Fontana '20 notched her fifth goal of the year to tie the score 2-2 in the 67th minute. Colby was moving out of its zone up the left sideline, but Mackenzie Christensen '22 stopped the attack at the midline and sent the ball back to the corner for Olivia Rodrigues '21. Rodrigues passed horizontally to Gambino outside the box and Gambino lofted a ball to the penalty hash. Colby's goalkeeper, Shannon Gray (eight saves) made a play for the ball but Fontana one-timed the bouncing ball into the goal.

Rachel Pike '21 played the first half and Caity Smith '22 took over in the second, both goalkeepers finished with two saves.

Hamilton wraps up the regular season on Tuesday, Oct. 23 with a non-conference game at SUNY Oswego at 3:30 p.m.
