Ten women rowers earn scholar athlete honors

Ten members of the Hamilton College women's rowing team have collected 2020 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar Athlete Awards.

2020 CRCA release

In addition to the scholar-athlete recognition, rower Ann-Sophie Koglin '20 (Westfield, N.J./Westfield HS) and coxswain Rachel Sutor '20 (Gladwyne, Pa./Baldwin School) were 2020 Pocock All-America Nominees. NCAA head coaches wanted to recognize the top performers in women's rowing even though the majority of the spring season, including the national championships, were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Hamilton's Jim Lister nominated Koglin and Sutor, but the CRCA won't be announcing 2020 all-America teams.

In order to be eligible for the CRCA Scholar Athlete Awards, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic standing, ranked performance-wise in the top 50 percent of their team or in the "NCAA Squad" at the conclusion of the season, and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better through the fall semester for the current competition year. Sutor and Julia Hartnett '20 are on the list for the third time in their Hamilton careers. The complete list of honorees is listed below.
